Sheri Rogers Small was born June 8, 1958, at Alva, Oklahoma, to Kenneth Ralph and Bernita (Prophet) Rogers of Buffalo, Oklahoma. Sheri attended Buffalo Grade and High School, graduating with the class of 1976. Sheri attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University for one year then moved to Dodge City, Kansas, where she continued her education in health care at the Dodge City Community College, Dodge City, Kansas. Sheri then moved to Lawrence, Kansas, where she completed her health care studies at the Pinnacle Career Institute. Sheri worked in the health care and retail business. Sheri’s grandchildren had a very special name for Sheri; they loved to call her Nee Nee. Sheri was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Bernita Rogers; grandparents, Charles Martel and wife Ethel Pearl (Taggart) Rogers and Sam and wife Myrtle (Limb) Prophet. Sheri left her earthly home on Thursday, August 25, 2016, at the Kansas University Medical Center, Kansas City, Kansas, at the age of 58 years old. Sheri leaves as her survivors, daughters Jessica Small and Sheena Small; son Ian Small; several grandchildren; sisters Dana Steely and Lisa Bice; uncle Johnny and wife Frances Prophet; aunts Wandalou (Rogers) Journagan, and Sheila Prophet and other family and friends. Sheri will be greatly missed. Memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 24, 2016, at the First United Methodist Church, Buffalo, OK, with Rev. Phil Davis officiating.
