Obituary for Robert (Bob) P. Burton
Robert Paul Burton, best know as Bob, was born June 5, 1941 to Paul L. & Edith (Paisley) Burton in Kansas City, Missouri. Bob grew up in Chillicotue Missouri and graduated from Chillicotue High School in 1959. Bob was drafted into the Army in 1966 and served until 1968. Bob has one son Jeremy, from a previous marriage. Bob married Sirrildia (Wilson) of February 29, 1988. Bob was employed by King Radio Corporation, where he retired from in 2004. Bob hobbies where fishing, target and skeet shooting, and trains of all sizes. Bob was a member of the Northeast Kansas Garden Railway Society and Boothill Model Railroad Club. Bob volunteered at the Recycling Center in Ashland, Kansas. Bob served as Mayor of Edgerton, Kansas. Bob served on the Board for the Iroquois Center. Bob was preceded in death by his parents. Bob left his earthly home on March 17, 2016. Bob leaves as his survivors his wife Sirrildia of the home, son, Jeremy of Edgerton, Kansas, granddaughter; Katie, and other family and friend. In lieu of flowers family request donation to Ashland Library, 604 Main Street, PO Box 397, Ashland, Kansas.
Memorial services will be held April 2, 2016, at the United Methodist Church, Fellowship Hall, 310 Main Street, Ashland, Kansas, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, a come and go memorial to celebrate Bob life.
