On Sunday morning, October 22, 2023, Martha Jane Williamson, 87, of Ashland, moved to her Heavenly home. Martha was a godly woman who loved the Lord and her family and set an example for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren that will continue to lead them throughout their lives.
Martha was born in the Lexington Community on January 16, 1936, to John Lester and Mamie Hughs Pentz. She was married for 62 years to the late R.L. “Red” Williamson.
Martha loved her Savior, the Lord Jesus, with all her heart and she loved God’s Word. Though she was a humble, gentle woman, Martha was nonetheless a powerful prayer warrior, and only heaven knows what a wonderful and eternal impact all of her many years of faithful praying have had on her family and her friends.
She was loved by many, especially her husband R.L. “Red” (deceased), daughters Marla (Rusty) Tournade, Carla (Kendal) Filson; four grandchildren, Hiedi (Bob) Napierala, Spencer Tournade, Chanda (Richard) Meister, and Lexi Filson; and seven great-grandchildren; Jill, Hayden, Mia, Mayla, Leah, Henzley, and Haizlee, as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents John Lester and Mamie Hughs Pentz; her husband R.L. “Red” Williamson; two brothers Glenn Pentz and Perry Pentz; and two sisters Norma (Pentz) German and Peggy (Pentz) Reed.
The family would like to extend special appreciation to all the staff at Ashland Senior Living for their loving care and kindness shown to our mother during her stay with you, especially as she transitioned into her new season of life.
A service to celebrate her life will take place on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Ashland, Kansas. Interment will follow immediately after the service at Highland Cemetery.
Martha was very grounded in her faith. She embodied humility, compassion, kindness, and love. Her family will miss her presence in their lives but rejoice in knowing that she is at peace and is resting as the good and faithful servant that she was.
“She finished well!”
