Maria (Betty) Velez

Maria Berenitce “Betty” Velez, was born in Nacogdoches, Texas to Saul & Angela Velez on October 2, 1992. The family made their home in Perryton, Texas before moving to Buffalo, Oklahoma in 1993. Betty grew up in Buffalo attended grade school and graduated from Buffalo High School with the class of 2012. After high school she enrolled into the Service Career Program at High Plains Technology Center. During her time there she competed at National Skills USA placing first for her work in Floral Design.

Betty loved watching sports whether it was high school games or professional games. Betty loved everyone she knew, but most of all she loved her family. Betty went home to be with her heavenly father on November 12, 2017, surrounded by her family at her bedside in Oklahoma City at the Select Medical Hospital. Betty was preceded in death by her grandfather Moises Vital Rangel. Betty leaves as her survivors her mother and father Angela and Saul Velez, siblings Joaquin, Jazmin, & Eidan. Grandparents Maria Guadalupe Torres of Manuel Avila Camacho, Nieves, Zacatecas, Mexico, Carmen Velez of Manuel Avila Camacho Nieves Zacatecas Mexico, Magdalena Ayala of Perryton, Texas; numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends as well as special friends Karen Rodgers, Brenna Kirkwood, Kali Watson and April Nosler.
