Junior Elrod

Junior Grant Elrod, was born on December 24, 1929, to James Asel & Essie May (Wright) Elrod at Bristow, Oklahoma. Junior went to be with the Lord on February 28, 2018 in the Ashland Health Center Senior Living. Junior graduated High School from Bristow, Oklahoma in 1948. A year later April 1, 1949, Junior married the love of his life Avis Kathrine Jones in Odessa, Texas, and to this union three children were born, Steven, Kathy and Kristi. The family made their home in Guymon, Oklahoma, where Junior worked for Phillips Petroleum for 36 years and then retired in 1985. Junior and Avis moved to Ponca City, Oklahoma in 1990. He enjoyed going swimming, playing pool, or a game of dominos, riding motorcycles, camping and spending time flying kites with his kids and then later with his grandchildren. Junior was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brothers; Gene, James and Tommy Elrod, Sisters; Joyce Fox, Lois Clark, Wanda Marshall, and Della Jo McMullen, Daughter; Kathy L. Stone, and Great Grandson; Jack Ryan Lee. Junior leaves as his survivors a son Steven Elrod, a daughter Kristi Lee and husband John, Grandchildren Misty Stone, Jeremy Elrod and wife Amiee, Kimberly Smith and husband Judd, Ryan Lee and wife Amanda, Kristal McKinize and husband Nick, Renee Jenkins and husband Mitch, eleven Great Grandchildren other relatives and many friends.
