JAMES A. LAVERTY

October 16, 1969 — September 20, 2024

GATE, OK.

James Albert Laverty was born on October 16, 1969 to Albert Alvie Laverty and Willa June (Sumpter) Laverty. James was one of five siblings and was loved and cherished by each of them. Every family has that one special family member that everyone could depend on; James was that person.

As James grew up, his dependability continued by joining the Army. He rose to the rank of Corporal and met the first love of his life, Lisa and her daughter, Lily. Together they created James’ most prized life accomplishment; his daughter Chandler. Chandler brought a new light of life into his world and he cherished every minute being a father.

Time went by and James began working at Pressure Systems International. This new job provided James a new level of dependability. He quickly became quite knowledgeable in the field and became the go-to person to send all over the world to implement the systems first hand. He spent the majority of his career with PSI, and had the utmost respect and love for them.

While working at PSI, James met the second love of his life, Tonya. Together they settled back at “home” and helped Dad (Alvie) with the farm. James continued his work travels while extending his dependability with the farm. He would frequently be seen baling hay, moving cattle, or even fixing up old equipment in his spare time. He was a genius and had the ability to make equipment work even when they didn’t want to.

James was a quiet, reserved spoken person.. but when he chose to speak, you can guarantee there would be some sarcasm or humor to be made. He was a very unique and loved individual and will be greatly missed by many that knew him.
