Inez Fergason

Inez Leah (Luinstra) Fergason, was the 16 ^th child of John and Ica Blanche Surgeon Luinstra, born on April 26, 1930 at their home in Laverne, Oklahoma. Upon the death of her mother at the age of eight, older siblings L.W. Luinstra and Ethel Shelinbarger became her guardians. Inez graduated from Laverne High School and attended Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, Oklahoma. On July 2 1950 Inez and Erlye Claude Fergason were united in marriage in Ponca City, Oklahoma, they were married for 25 years. To this union four daughters were born. After Eryle s second stint in the Air Force, in 1953 they took up residence around Columbus, Gahanna, and Westerville, Ohio. Inez graduated from Ohio State University in 1962 with a Bachelor of Education Degree, and later earned her Master’s Degree. Inez taught fourth grade at East Linden Elementary School in Columbus, Ohio, for 30 years then retiring in 1993. In 2008 Inez moved to Bolivar, Missouri due to health reasons. Inez enjoyed traveling and visiting family in South Dakota, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas and abroad. Inez was saved as a young girl at the First Baptist Church Laverne. Her faith in God has sustained her throughout her life. Inez was very active in her church, where ever she lived, teaching Sunday School Classes, Volunteering with Southern Baptist Disaster Relief program. Inez enjoyed her many church activities and remained a faithful attendee until her health prevented her to attend. Inez was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bolivar. Inez was an avid Quilter. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters, Ethel Shelinbarger, Heike Stinson and Blanche Smith, nine brothers, Klass, Johnnie, Garrett, Lovell, Hans, Fritz, Deane, Laverne, and David Luinstra. Inez Fergason at the age of 85 went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday May 9, 2015, with family friends by her bedside at the Citizen Memorial Healthcare Facility, in Bolivar, Missouri, due to complications of Parkinson’s. Grateful for having shared her life are her four daughters Erylene Sibley and husband Mike of Bolivar, MO; Debbie Dixon and husband Greg of Huron, SD; Jodi Shaner and husband Gary of Prague OK; Janet Reiss of Westerville OH;  Eleven Grandchildren:  Jeremy Sibley and wife Sarah, Halfway, MO; Amy Sharp and husband Jamie, Bolivar, MO; Ben Dixon, Ashville NC; Emily Chilson and husband Ryan, Bonsall, CA; Nathanael Dixon and wife Alyia, Brookings, SD; Travis Shaner, Ok City, OK; Melissa Lindsey and husband Buddy, Prague, OK; Justin Shaner and wife Kristine, Houston, TX; Rebekah Blanton and husband Justin, Westerville, OH; Daniel Reiss, Galena, OH; and Stephen Reiss, Westerville, OH. Ten Great-Grandchildren:  Kamryn and Anah Sibley; Jaeden, Aubryn and Kaisley Sharp; Dominick, Cora, and Hayden Chilson; Calin and Jace Blanton.  Five Sisters:  Alta Lively, San Antonio, TX;  Maurine Rusco, Okeene, OK; Dorthy Smith, Woodward, OK;  Selia Crawford, Hugoton, KS; Christina Aylett, Perryton, TX; one brother Sam Luinstra, Wichita, KS; sister-in-law Georgeanne Fergason, Waco, TX and a host of nieces and nephews.
