Virgie Lou Hunter was born to Willard and Bertha (Ford) Miller on November 15, 1930 Northwest of Buffalo, Oklahoma, in her grandmother’s farm house.
Virgie attended Fort Diamond Country School before attending High School in Buffalo and graduating with the class of 1948.
Following High School graduation, Virgie work many years at the office for Northwestern Electric in Buffalo.
Virgie and husband, Dick Hunter, opened the Love's store in Buffalo. After several years of operating the Love's Store, Virgie and Dick bought the Corner Store in Minneola, Kansas. Virgie continued to operate the Minneola store following Dick's death in 1988. Virgie eventually retired and moved back to Buffalo to enjoy her retirement and friends.
Virgie was preceded in death by her parents, husband Duane Hawkins and husband Dick Hunter. Virgie left her earthly home Sunday, February 22, 2015.
She is survived by step-sons Lindsay Hunter and wife Mary of Panama and Mitchell Hunter of McCloud and her dear friend, Linda Collins; along with many cousins and friends. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Buffalo Senior Citizens Center.
Memorial service will be held 2:00 PM, Wednesday, March 4 , 2015 at the Buffalo Senior Citizens Center, with Pastor Phil Davis officiating, under the direction of Wilkinson Funeral Service, Buffalo, Oklahoma.
