Gail Clark

Gail “Gus” Clark left this world surrounded by family and friends on March 18, 2025. He was born August 18, 1951, in Alva, Oklahoma, to Fred Clark and Minnie (Albin) Clark. He was the youngest of 4 children, siblings being Fred II, Zelma and Chuck. He attended school in Selman until it closed and then graduated from Buffalo in 1969. He drove a school bus during his senior year. After graduation he attended Panhandle State College and then moved back home to work alongside his father and mother on the family farm in Selman.

From a previous marriage 2 children were born, Levi and Casey. He later met and married Diana on September 11, 1986, and gained another daughter, Dawna. They raised their family in Sharon, Oklahoma, for several years then returned to the family farm.

He was a “jack of all trades and master of none”. He worked numerous jobs over the years and met a lot of friends along the way and took in a lot of “strays”. He had a big heart and loved helping anyone in need. He loved camping, fishing, hunting and riding horses and had a team of horses and mules that pulled various wagons. He participated in many trail rides, including the Trail of Dreams that hosted children with cancer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law (Buck) and mother-in-law (Nellie) Garriott, and brother-in-law (Bob) Garriott.

He is survived by his wife, Diana; children, Dawna Clark of Selman; Levi and wife, Shannon Clark, of Buffalo; Casey and husband, Dustin Warner of Mooreland; grandchildren, Tyrell and wife, Morgan Underhill of Woodward; Sam Underhill and Becca of Altus; Addison, Lathan “Stoney”, and Paisley “Becky” Clark of Buffalo; Caylee and Emilee Gulley, and Rayden Warner of Mooreland; great grandson Keith Wayne Underhill of Altus; and God-son, Mark Bradt of Selman; and numerous other cousins, nieces, nephews and family members and friends.

Prairie burial graveside service will be 11:00AM Thursday March 27th in the Spring Valley Cemetery, highway 64 & 34 Jct. south 2 miles.
