Gertrude Fern Terrill was born in Alva to parents Kenneth and Ruby Terrill, where she lived until she was five when the family moved to the family farm northwest of Buffalo. Fern attended and graduated from Buffalo Public Schools.
She married Cecil Job on July 26, 1957, there is no doubt they are enjoying their long-awaited reunion. Fern and Cecil had four children: Jo, Robyn, Nancy and Kenneth. Fern made sure family times were filled with love, laughter, and memories by hosting holiday Bingo games for her children and grandchildren and passing along her and Cecil’s love of card games. On top of this she served her family as doctor, professional listener, reindeer turd maker and grocery store - truly providing whatever they needed in the moment.
Fern was a community pillar. She was active in the Methodist Church, Red Hat Lady’s, avid golfer, and member of ladies’ bridge club. Her belief in the meaning of community and desire to support others was felt by many.
Fern was preceded in death by husband, Cecil Job; her parents, Kenneth and Ruby Terrill; two sisters, Revena Dobbert and Evelyn Beagley.
Gertrude Fern Job left her earthly home at the age of 85, peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on February 17, 2024.
Fern is survived by four children: Jo and Matt McCollom of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Robyn Job, Nancy and Regan Brewer of Buffalo, Oklahoma and Kenneth Job of Woodward, Oklahoma. Other survivors include her siblings; Dean Terrill, Marian Waugh, Karen and Sydney Malt and Sharen Para, and fourteen grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, her friend Rhonda Kornele and countless other friends!
