Donald James Richardson was born in Harper County, Oklahoma on January 1 st , 1930 to Walter and Ruth Richardson. He attended Buffalo Public School and graduated in 1948. While growing up he worked painting signs and ran the projector at the movie theater in town. After graduation, Don began working for ODOT Division 6. Don married his wife Neva September 23, 1950, to this union Donna, Ronald, and Jerry. Don worked on the sign crew for ODOT about 40 years. Upon retirement, Don drove a school bus for a few years. Don and Neva celebrated 60 years together before her passing. Don was proud to be a Deacon and a Member of the First Baptist Church. Don enjoyed helping and working with youth ministry. Throughout his life Don enjoyed gardening, growing wheat, raising cattle, and helping with harvest. Don was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Ruth Richardson; his brothers Jesse, Dwayne, and Merlin Richardson; his sisters Eunice Hargus, and Lela Love; his son Ronald E. Richardson; his wife Neva. Don went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 11, 2015 at his home with his family by his side. Don is survived by daughter Donna Myers; son Jerry Mead and wife Norma; grandson Jonathan Myers and wife Alicia; granddaughter Janel Hodge and husband John; great – grandsons Ian and Rowan Hodge; and great – granddaughter Rachelle Holt; nephews, nieces, and other family. Don will be greatly missed.
Funeral service will be Monday December 14, 2015 at the First Baptist Church; Buffalo, with Brother Jerry Hodges officiating, Cathy Earnest playing the Clavonia, Congregation signing “I’ll Fly Away” “When The Roll Is Called Up Younder”, and “Silent Night”. Casketbearers were Mac Bentley, Clyde Jackson, Sidney Malt, RA Bentley, Gene Scoval, Joe Hart. Burial will be in the High Point Cemetery. Family suggest, memorials to the First Baptist Church Youth Group.
