Don Burke left his earthly home on April 18, 2017.  Don was born to Loy and Pat Burke on November 18, 1963, in Liberal Kansas.  He graduated from Buffalo High School in 1982.  During his high school career he was involved in a variety of activities, but his number one love was football, he had such a competitive spirit.  Don went on to college where he graduated from Oklahoma State University with an accounting degree, he still enjoyed following the Oklahoma State Cowboy football team and attended many games, and was extremely proud when his daughter began attending his alma mater this year.  Don met the love of his life, Melissa, and they were married on March 7, 1996.  They were blessed with two daughters, J’Dena and Marisa.  Marisa is currently a freshmen at OSU and his daughter, J’Dena is a successful business woman in his hometown of Buffalo, OK.  Shortly after graduating from college Don started his insurance career, he went on to buy his own business, Lake Insurance Agency which he ran with his wife, Melissa.  Don sold the insurance agency and was currently employed with Dillingham Insurance.  Don had a very successful career, he was great with people and he had the gift of gab. Don was an avid golfer.  You could see him out at Doby Springs with his buddies whenever he could get away from his work.  Don was blessed with some amazing friends.  He also loved to hunt and was often teased about his lack of skill.  The first time he went hunting his brother-in-law, Andy, told him to just shoot them on the ground, but he later became a better shot.  Don and his family moved to Doby Springs in 2010.  He continued working in the insurance business, but began his true love, his cattle operation, where he often would be known to text picture to his friends and family of his beloved cows.  Don is preceded in death by his grandparents, Alvis and Jane Burke and Ray and Norma Keeton.  Don is survived by his wife Melissa Burke of Buffalo, Oklahoma; daughter’s J’Dena Burke and fiancé Hayden Dolin of Buffalo, Oklahoma, Marisa Burke of Buffalo, Oklahoma; parents, Loy Burke and wife Pat of Laverne, Oklahoma, sister;  Terena Bridwell and husband, Andy of Beaver, Oklahoma; mother-in-law, Louise Mayfield of Mooreland, Oklahoma;  brother-in-law’s, David Mayfield of Mooreland, Oklahoma, Burt Mayfield of Azle, Texas;  many nieces and nephews, family member and friends who all adored him. Don will be greatly missed.
